Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using the Vocam mobile application, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Vocam app.

Description of Service

Vocam is a language learning application that uses artificial intelligence and object detection technology to help users learn vocabulary in multiple languages through visual recognition of real-world objects.

User Accounts

You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account (or have parental consent)

Permitted Use

You may use Vocam for:

Personal language learning purposes
Educational activities
Non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms

Prohibited Use

You may NOT:

Use Vocam app for any illegal or unauthorized purpose
Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code
Share, distribute, or resell your account access
Upload malicious code or attempt to harm the Vocam app's functionality
Use Vocam app to harass, abuse, or harm others
Violate any applicable laws or regulations

Intellectual Property

Vocam and all related content are owned by İdil Doğa Türkmen
You retain rights to content you create using the Vocam app
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use the Vocam app
Our trademarks, logos, and brand elements remain our property

Camera and Microphone Usage

Vocam app requires camera access for object detection features
Vocam app requires microphone access for pronunciation practice
Images and audio are processed locally and/or through secure third-party APIs
We do not store camera images or audio recordings beyond immediate processing needs

Third-Party Services

Vocam app uses third-party services (Google Cloud APIs, Supabase) that have their own terms of service. You agree to comply with their terms when using our app.

User Content and Data

You retain ownership of your learning progress and personal data
You grant us permission to use your data to provide and improve the service
You can delete your account and data at any time
We may remove content that violates these Terms

Disclaimers

Vocam app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind
We do not guarantee the accuracy of translations or object recognition
Language learning results may vary by individual
We are not liable for any loss of data or learning progress

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the Vocam app (if any)
We are not responsible for third-party service outages or issues

Service Availability

We strive to maintain high service availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access
We may perform maintenance that temporarily affects service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue features with notice

Termination

You may delete your account at any time
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms
Upon termination, your right to use the Vocam app ceases immediately
Provisions regarding intellectual property and liability survive termination

Privacy

Your privacy is important to us. Please review our Privacy Policy to understand how we collect and use your information.

Updates to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes through the Vocam app or email. Continued use of the Vocam app constitutes acceptance of modified Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of the United States, with jurisdiction in California.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to be valid and enforceable.
